Spinal Adjustments and Traction

How it works

Our team performs spinal adjustment by using their hands or a device to apply a controlled force to a joint of the spine or an extremity. The amount of force applied depends on the type of adjustment used. The goal of the treatment is to relieve pain and improve physical function. Spinal joint adjustments have been shown to be just as effective as anti-inflammatory medication for relieving pain and improving flexibility, and more effective than medication for increasing range of motion.

Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. The goal of spinal traction is to pull the vertebrae apart from each other. The purpose is generally to create more space for nerves where they exit the spinal column or to relieve pressure on the cartilage disks between the bones or on the small spinal joints themselves.  This straightens the spine and improves the body's ability to heal itself. The results of spinal traction include pain relief, proper spinal alignment, and decompressed joints. Spinal traction stretches the muscles and bones in the back to combat the effects of gravity.
